Announce Artist and new product affiliation

For Immediate Release

January 20, 2010

Sacramento, CA: PianoDisc, a leading manufacturer of player and other retrofit systems for the acoustic piano, and its sister company, piano manufacturer Mason & Hamlin, made a joint announcement at the 2010 NAMM Show.  Mason & Hamlin introduced its newest endorsing Artist, pianist Hugh Sung, while PianoDisc announced that it is partnering with Sung’s company, AirTurn, Inc. of Boulder, CO., to bring the AirTurn AT-104 hands-free wireless page-turning technology and MusicReader software to PianoDisc’s product line.

Mason & Hamlin’s Artist Director, Jan Glazier, introduced Sung to the press with a recital of his many accomplishments as a pianist and educator (Sung debuted at the age of 11 with the Philadelphia Orchestra, is a busy soloist and chamber musician, and a member of the faculty at the Curtis Institute of Music), and his interest in technology.  Sung then played and simultaneously gave a fascinating demonstration of his company’s AirTurn technology as it interfaces with PianoDisc’s Sync-A-Vision technology.

Briefly, Sync-A-Vision features a 19-inch high definition wide-screen monitor that is built directly into the center of a music rack and powered with a Mac Mini computer.  Digital scores can be downloaded directly onto the Sync-A-Vision monitor, read and even annotated using MusicReader software, and the pages can then be turned, hands-free, via the wireless AirTurn AT-104 transmitter connected to a foot pedal.  In combination, the three technologies offer pianists an elegant and simple way to practice, play and perform with sheet music, and paper-less sheet music storage that is both eco-friendly and efficient.
